A few weeks ago, the Tall Glass of Fashion gals were reunited in Scottsdale, AZ for a very special bachelorette party for Kellie’s sister (and Makenzie’s cousin) Megan. We have so much fun info to share with y’all that we decided to break this post up into two. This week, we’ll be talking all about the destination, details, and decor, while next week we’ll talk about what we did while in Scottsdale.
Let’s just preface this by saying this bachelorette party was a little different due to Corona. We actually planned it in Scottsdale because this were a lot different prior to the end of June, bars ended up closing and restaurants were at limited capacities. That being said, we made the best of it and it was actually a lot of fun!

DESTINATION
Scottsdale!! Scottsdale was at the top of the list because Megan had originally planned for Palm Springs (pre Corona) and Scottsdale has a very similar, desert vibe. Megan wanted to go somewhere where we could relax, have fun, and lay by the pool. Scottsdale seemed like the perfect choice especially considering Makenzie knows it fairly well (ASU baby!).
AIR BNB
We opted for an Air BnB because we knew we’d be spending a lot of time staying in. We knew we wanted a house with a pool so that we could stay home and swim/layout during the day. We found the most adorable house, which was decorated perfectly (great for pics). The house actually worked out perfectly with beds for each girl and plenty of bathrooms. It also was about a 5-7 minute drive to Old Town, which is where all the restaurants/bars are. We would definitely stay here again!
THEME
After much research, we decided on a Scottsdale Before the Veil theme. Megan wasn’t very particular on this, which made it super simple. We decided to go with that theme and add in one of Megan’s favorite colors, lilac. We also added in gold and white with some cactus accents; totally on theme.
DECOR
Perhaps the most fun, but most time consuming part of planning a bachelorette part: the decor. The most important element of bachelorette decor is some sort of photo backdrop or wall. We decided to do two walls: one indoor, one outdoor (that way we could take pictures by the pool).
The first photo backdrop (showed below) took the longest to make. We had three different color streamers and we cut them at different lengths, then taped them at the same level on the wall. Meanwhile, one of us blew up a ton of balloons in various sizes and used a balloon arch kit to make the balloon arch. The balloon arch could also be ordered from a floral/balloon company, but we went the DIY/less expensive route. We then used a ton of tape to stick the balloons to the wall. We also added the Scottsdale Before the Veil banner to tie it all together.

The second photo backdrop was outside. We put two gold fringe backdrops together to make it less see through, added a cactus banner, and a custom Megan’s Bachelorette banner. This backdrop was super simple and easy to put together. It was perfect for outside.

We also decorated the dining room table. We found a gold shimmery table runner at Target and it was perfect for the long dining table in the house. We added our paper plates, napkins, and cups for a pop of lilac. We also added cactus shot glasses, a utensil holder which we filled with paper straws and napkins, confetti, and temporary tattoos of the groom.

Since we had a pool, we brought a ton of floaties and drink floaties. We blew those all up before Megan arrived and had them ready in the pool.
Lastly, we blew up a balloon banner that said “Bride to Be” and taped it above the bride’s bed. We also blew up a bunch of random leftover balloons to make it look festive.

DETAILS
Some small details that we bought for Megan were: a veil, Bride to Be tiara, Bride straw, Bride cup, and a customized sash. She loved them all and it was so fun to give her a few gifts to make her feel special and bridal during our time in Scottsdale.
