Mak’s Last Disco – Nashville Bachelorette Party Recap

It’s been literal months since my bachelorette party and six since the wedding, so I think I’m finally ready to post all the details about my bachelorette weekend in Nashville!

Day 1 – Thursday

On Thursday morning Kellie and I woke up bright and early and headed to the airport. We flew from Austin to Nashville and arrived in the late morning. We were the first to arrive and we waited at the airport for Kellie’s sister, Megan. Then, we hopped in an Uber and headed over to my friend Sara’s house.

One of my top tips for bachelorette parties is to ship all the decor and supplies to someone who lives in the destination city. This is SO helpful so you don’t have to fly with pounds and pounds of bachelorette decor (my suitcases were packed full anyway!). Sara was nice enough to store all our supplies. So we checked on everything and headed to Bar Taco for lunch. Bar Taco was SO good. The margs were so yummy (I got the pineapple drink) and the guacamole was amazing. Beware: the tacos are spicy but super good. One by one the girls all started to show up and it was just the best feeling to see all my friends showing up to celebrate with me.

After everyone had arrived and we had a few drinks, we headed back to Sara’s to pick up our decor and bags and took Ubers to the Air BnB. We chose a rental house that was about 10 minutes away from Broadway, affordable (about $250 per person), and super cute! Sara and I took her car to pick up the groceries while the other girls stayed to decorate. When we got back to the house I was shocked to see a huge balloon wall and, of course, so many adorable disco cowgirl decorations. The girls, led by Maddie (my sister and Maid of Honor), did an amazing job making the house look the part.

THEME: DISCO

For the first night, we made tacos at home…and honestly I didn’t have time to eat (don’t recommend) because I took so long to get ready. We took photos (of course) and had to rush out the door to make our reservation for KARAOKE! I booked a karaoke room at Kung Fu Saloon and it was another gift to the girls (and for myself because I love karaoke). We had the room for two hours and it was so fun, we honestly could’ve kept going for way longer. I will never forget singing my heart out with my girls!

After karaoke, we headed to Broadway. We spent the night dancing and singing along to live music. By far, the best moment was when one of the band members took our fans which were cutouts of Stephen’s face and put it in his shirt. The bandmates followed suit and it was the most funny moment by far! The girls ended the night with hot dogs on the street (not me because gluten free lol), we went home, ate Cheeto Puffs and went to sleep. We needed our rest for day two.

Day 2 – Friday

The next day, we got up and made breakfast at the house. We got dressed in our for our next activity, took photos and headed out.

THEME: DISCO COWGIRL DAYTIME

Today’s activity: The HonkyTonk Express Bus! If you haven’t been to Nashville, these are buses with clear tops that are partially open that drive around the city with bachelorette parties and other groups where you dance, drink and have fun with your group. We drove around for two hours with a break in the middle. It was SO much fun! You get to bring your own drinks and then a guide/bartender serves the drinks during the tour. We danced and had the best time! People on the streets of Nashville will stare or dance along with you (I’m pretty sure some people took photos and videos haha). They also stop halfway through at a bar for a bathroom break, which we all needed. We grabbed a shot, took a quick break and got back on the bus. I would 100% recommend this to any group!

After the bus, we went back to the house and got ready for dinner and our second night on Broadway.

THEME: DISCO COWGIRL NIGHTTIME

All dressed up in our disco cowgirl outfits, we headed to dinner at The Row. They had live music out on the patio, which was nice. The food was honestly not my favorite, but it wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t anything special. Then, we headed back to Broadway where we spent a majority of our time at Jason Aldean’s and Tootsies. I would highly recommend both of these bars. Jason Aldean’s has multiple levels with different types of music on each and Tootsies had the most amazing live band. We had so much fun dancing the night away. In fact, we stayed out till around 3 a.m.!

Day 3 – Saturday

Saturday was supposed to be our brunch day, but were not feeling the best (maybe it had something to do with staying out until 3 a.m. lol), so we actually cancelled and had a slow morning. A few of the girls walked and got coffee and the rest had coffee and breakfast at the house. It was a nice, relaxing time.

Once we were all feeling up for it, we got ready to go shopping and to grab some lunch. We took Ubers over to Vici, Kittenish, and Uncommon James. Kellie and I picked up some adorable pearl jewelry from Uncommon James. It was fun to actually visit Vici in person since we used to in Newport Beach, but that location has since closed.

After shopping, we were exhausted (it was hot!). So we headed back to the house to rest before dinner. Before we knew it, it was time to get ready for our reservation.

THEME: PINK

For dinner on our last night, we went to Adele’s. It was very good and the lemon drops were great! We opted for the family style menu, although we all decided that if we went again it might have been less expensive to get our own entrees and share. We did not go out on the last night since we all had early morning flights to catch.

After dinner, we came back to the house and changed into our pjs. Then, we had a Panty Party! This is a tradition that we’ve done at all our friend’s and family member’s bachelorette parties. Basically, each girl brings a pair of panties either cute or funny and wraps them, but does not include their name on the package. The bride opens each one and tries to guess who they are from. I honestly don’t think I got any of them right (lol).

The last thing we did was really special. Before the bachelorette weekend, my friend Alex collected photos from each of my bridesmaids, my mom and Stephen and then at that night handed everyone a prompt and pen. The girls got to writing. After, they read their letters and answers to the questions. There were also letters from my mom and Stephen. Let me tell you…tear were SHED. This was definitely something I’ll never forget. Alex put everything together in a scrapbook for me. I’ll cherish it forever.

Then, we all cleaned up and packed up for our departures the next day. I actually had the latest flight of anyone (and it was still early!). So we said our goodbyes and went to bed.

Day 4 – Sunday

One by one the girls headed to the airport. I was sad to leave. I truly had the best weekend with my best girls and I loved Nashville! My friend, Sara, picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. I grabbed a coffee after I got through security, but it apparently did nothing because I completely crashed on the plane ride home. And I normally can’t sleep on planes haha. I was exhausted. I will never forget the best weekend ever in Nashville and I’m so thankful to my best friends for making it so special and fun – Mak’s Last Disco!
