We’re back! This week giving a few tips that will help you when searching for the perfect wedding dress! Real talk, I wish I could wear my wedding dress everyday, that’s how much I loved it. I hope you all have that same feeling when you find “the one!”

DO YOUR RESEARCH
Before going in to try on dresses, make sure you do a little bit of research to see what kind of styles you like. There are hundreds if not thousands of styles and dresses to choose from and it can be overwhelming. You’ll want to give the stylist a good idea of what you’re looking for, or maybe even something you know for sure you don’t want. That way they aren’t picking dresses you won’t like. I did this a few months before I went to try on and it helped tremendously! My stylist knew exactly what to pull and she even pulled one I didn’t like just so we could be sure I didn’t like it before completely crossing it off my list. FUN FACT: The first dress I ever tried on was the dress I picked! My stylist knew exactly what I was looking for all because I did some research.
PICK YOUR TRIBE
I can’t stress this enough. Do NOT bring everyone you know and love to your dress appointments, that’ll stress you out and you’ll be so overwhelmed. Your bridesmaids will know they can’t all come (mostly because most stores only allow a certain number of guests anyway), but they will understand. I brought my mom, grandma and two bridesmaids to help me at my first two appointments. They were extremely helpful and really listened to what I wanted, instead of picking stuff they would like.
LISTEN TO YOUR GUT
I feel like this kind of goes hand-in-hand with the tip above. If you bring too many people, you’ll probably end up choosing what style they like, rather than what you want. It’s so important to be true to yourself and to what you’re looking for in your dress. You’ve probably dreamed about this day for so long and know exactly what you want. If your mom or maid of honor doesn’t like your dress, well too bad, it’s your decision! They will end up loving it regardless because they love you! I know it’s so easy to be pushed in a certain direction throughout the entire planning process, but be true to yourself and stick to what you love because no one knows you better than yourself.
DON’T OVERSHOP
I think this one is so important… don’t go to ten dress boutiques, again you will be stressed out and over whelmed. Do your research with the shops beforehand that way you know if they carry the styles you are looking for. If you end up going to too many stores, you will get stressed and either find too many dresses you love or you’ll be searching for the “perfect” one. I went to two stores and they were perfect. I tried on a handful of dresses at each store, but ultimately knew I loved the first dress I ever tried.
HAVE FUN
Dress shopping is all about you, don’t forget that! Ultimately, you should have fun crossing this one off your wedding checklist! This is probably one of the most fun days throughout the entire planning process. Make sure you drink some champagne, smile and laugh with the people you brought with you. It’s a day you will remember for the rest of your life!
